Triple Bunk Beds for Florida Gulf Coast Vacation Homes

Custom triple bunk beds built to increase sleeping capacity while keeping Florida beach homes, vacation rentals, and family retreats comfortable and open.

Need more sleeping space without turning a bedroom into a crowded bunk room? Custom triple bunk beds offer a practical middle ground between a standard bunk bed and a tightly packed quad-bunk layout. They are a strong fit for beach houses, vacation rentals, second homes, and guest rooms from Orange Beach, Alabama, through the Florida Panhandle and along Florida’s Gulf Coast to Key West.

Our most popular triple-bunk arrangement places two twin or twin XL beds toe-to-toe on the upper level above a queen or king bed. The result is additional sleeping capacity with a more spacious lower sleeping area for adults and families.

Why Choose a Custom Triple Bunk Bed?

Triple Bunk Beds for Coastal Florida Properties

A custom triple bunk can help make a vacation property more flexible for large family stays, multi-family trips, and extended visits. These beds are suitable for beach homes and rental properties in Destin, Miramar Beach, Santa Rosa Beach, 30A, Fort Walton Beach, Panama City Beach, Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, Pensacola, and other Florida Gulf Coast communities. Custom planning is also available for properties farther south, including Tampa Bay, Sarasota, Naples, Fort Myers, Miami, and Key West.

Place names such as Miramar Beach, Rosemary Beach, and Santa Rosa Beach may be used as design inspirations; the right configuration depends on your actual room dimensions, ceiling height, mattress sizes, and access requirements.

Common Triple Bunk Configurations

Upper twin beds over a queen

Two twins or twin XLs sit toe-to-toe above a queen lower bed. This arrangement provides useful sleeping capacity while preserving a comfortable full-size bed below.

Upper twin beds over a king

A king lower bed offers the most spacious lower-level option for couples, parents, or guests who prefer additional room. The required overall footprint should be reviewed carefully before selecting this layout.

Custom combinations

Available layouts can be planned around twin, twin XL, queen, or king mattress sizes. Custom sizing may be possible for unusual floorplans, provided there is adequate clearance for ladders, mattresses, circulation, and ceiling height.

Construction and Design Features

Triple bunk beds are built with oversized structural lumber and reinforced joinery. The design is engineered to support more than 800 pounds per sleeping level. Final use, mattress selection, room conditions, and installation details should be discussed during the design process.

Depending on the configuration, options may include:

Typical Dimensions

Triple-bunk dimensions vary by mattress combination and room layout. A common design has an overall depth of approximately 67 inches and an overall length of approximately 180 inches or more when two upper beds are arranged toe-to-toe. Typical posts are approximately 84 inches high, with the upper bed platform around 55 to 65 inches from the floor.

Ceiling height is an important part of planning. Eight-foot ceilings may provide approximately 30 to 36 inches of clearance in portions of the design, depending on mattress thickness and the selected configuration. Ceilings of 10 feet or higher may be preferred for taller stacked designs. Exact dimensions are confirmed for the room before the build is finalized.

Is a Triple Bunk Better Than a Quad Bunk?

A quad bunk can maximize the number of individual sleeping positions, but it may make the room feel more compact. A triple bunk uses one larger lower bed instead, giving the room a more open appearance and providing a comfortable sleeping surface for adults. The best choice depends on your guest capacity goals, room size, ceiling height, and whether the lower bed needs to accommodate a couple.

Plan a Triple Bunk Bed for Your Florida Property

Whether you are furnishing a rental near the Emerald Coast, a family beach house near Gulf Shores, a second home on Florida’s Gulf Coast, or a guest room in Key West, a custom triple bunk bed can add useful sleeping capacity without sacrificing the feel of the room.
